Kuhonji Campus

The Kuhonji Campus is home to the Faculty of Human Life Science’s Department of Nutritional Science (Shokei University), and the Department of Integrated Career Studies and Department of Food and Nutrition (Shokei University Junior College). The campus is situated in the heart of Kumamoto City, and also contains Shokei Junior High School and Shokei High School. The 10-story Building No. 1 is equipped with the latest facilities, such as a clinical nutrition training room, nutrition education training room, and precision-equipment room. On the first floor is a student cafeteria and convenience store, and an excellent choice of delicious and inexpensive meals are available. The newly-built library stores 120,000 books and is made use of as a comfortable place to study. Shokei Arena has a capacity of around 2,000 people, and as well as being used for physical education activities, different types of events and concerts are also able to be held there.

Clubs: Through club activities, both younger and older students can get to know each other better and form friendships. Club activities are considered to be helpful in making student life more fulfilling.
Currently, several dozen types of clubs are active, including the Kuhonji Blood Donation Club and the Food Research Club.

ACCESS

  • JR Train/Bus
    Ride the JR Kagoshima Main Line and get off at Kumamoto Station.
    Change to bus and ride the 1st Loop Line in the direction towards “Daigaku Byouin”,
    get off at “Shokeikomae”, and walk for 1 minute (be careful not to take the bus going in the opposite direction).
  • Trams
    Ride the tram (to Kengun), get off at “Kuhonjikosaten”, and walk for 5 minutes.
  • Taxis
    A 10-minute ride from the Kumamoto Transport Center.

Musashigaoka Campus

The Musashigaoka Campus is home to the Faculty of Contemporary Culture (Shokei University) and the Department of Childhood Education (Shokei University Junior College). The campus is situated in the abundantly-green Kikuyo Town and features a library with a collection of around 100,000 books and a computer room equipped with the latest computers. It is also set up as an environment for supporting student’s lives, with a student hall facility that can be used freely during break times and after school. The attached kindergarten affixed to the campus also acts as a training facility for the Department of Childhood Education, and most of the teachers who work here are graduates of the course.

Clubs: Through club activities, junior and senior students can get to know each other better and form friendships. Club activities are considered to help in making student life more substantial.
Currently, several dozen types of clubs are active, including the Calligraphy Club, Korean Language Club, and Fine Arts Club.

    Ride the Hohi Main Line, get off at Musashizuka Station, and walk for 20 minutes.
  • Buses
    Ride the Route “Kita 5” bus going towards Shimizu (either going to Izumigaoka via Shinchi Danchi, or going to Suginamidai) from Bus Stop No. 15 at the Transport Center. Get off at “Shokei Daigaku Mae”, and walk for 1 minute.
  • Taxis
    Around a 25-minute ride from the Kumamoto Transport Center.
