【Department of Culture and Language】 Booth Participation at “Ozu Genki Festival”
Department of Culture and Language students ran a booth at the “Ozu Genki Festival” sponsored by the Higo Ozu Tourism Association and held at Ozu Chuo Park on Sunday, November 27th (10 a.m.-4 p.m.).
At the booth, students had a 100 yen drawing aimed at children and done in cooperation with the tourism association.
Among the members of the Service Learning Club (SLC), three freshman students from the Modern Communication Course participated.
Despite rainy weather on the day of the festival, many guests still came to the festival and the students were able to sell out all the tickets to the drawing.
Through interactions with tourism association officials and members of the local community, students were able to learn many things, including the enjoyment as well as difficulties of regional development activities.
The Modern Communication Course aims to improve the more practical communication skills of students by participating in hands-on activities in fields such as tourism.
(The Department of Culture and Language of Shokei University and Higo Ozu Tourism Association have a cooperative partnership agreement.)
